So lately I've definitely been a "road is paved with good intentions" sort of girl. August is a tricky fellow. Not only is it a month filled with birthdays and weddings and travels, but SCHOOL has resumed, and with that so has my day job! I thought that I'd be able to keep up with my art-life regularly that first week, but things just got the better of me. The above pic of Scout represents how I feel lately when I get home.
That aside, the routine is coming back together, and with it so will my sleeping pattern. I have specific time allotted for artiness and blogging each evening, so I hope, hope, hope that things will fall into place.
So. Now that I'm done qualifying my absence, I have two announcements to share today!
1.) Earlier this summer, I set up a shop on Society6. This site is an awesome resource for graphic art.
My shop is pretty sparse right now, mostly because I want it to take a little different form than my etsy shop, but it's ready for visitors.
Why make another shop, you ask? Here's why:
On Society6, you have the option of ordering a design in a variety of formats that I can't produce right now, like canvases, shirts, and even cell phone covers. Super cool. The only kicker is that the printing comes directly from them, so I don't actively touch the items that are going out (though they're very high quality), and I'm unable to hand-sign any of the artwork. This is important to me, so I've been pretty selective. So far I've picked a few that I think would make fun phone jackets or wall canvases, and I hope to make more things soon that are exclusively for that site.
So, I hope you'll stop by and check it out. There's a link here, and also up top in the shop spot on my toolbar.
2.) I'm going to be at ARTsarben in a few weeks! :-) I'm pretty excited. This is the first time for this fest, and the first one I've done in a few years now. It's all fine art, so I'll be focusing on canvases and things, rather than illustrations. If you're around Omaha, I hope you'll stop by and say hello! In the meantime, I am painting like crazy to prepare.
