Saturday, Soup, and Scones

Some Saturday scenes for you today. Yesterday I decided to buy myself flowers. We definitely needed a little Spring up in here. Also there's a peek at a new abstract painting I worked on last week. I really love the way it turned out, so I'm going to follow it up with a few more.

Earlier this week we were in the mood for an easy dinner, so we just heated up some boxed soup - Trader Joe's Tomato and Red Pepper, which is really delicious stuff. I decided to try out some cheese scones from a recipe that I found over at Tiny Happy, one of my favorite blogs. They're super easy to make - and for you U.S.ers, the conversions are roughly: 2tbls butter and 395 degrees F.  I cooked mine a bit longer too - 20-25 minutes, and my cheese of choice was asiago. I think it held up really well in the oven. The maker, Melissa, loads her blog with all sorts of beautiful and useful things, from recipes and home vignettes to her pretty stitched crafts.

The scones look delicious and they definitely go well with the tomato soup, but whatI really admire is your new painting!
