Camping at the Lake

A few weeks ago we took a short camping trip down to Branched Oak Lake in Lincoln. Our spot was right on the water, much to the happiness of Miss Scout, who loves to swim. The hiking trails were mostly through prairie grasses, so we were saved from the heat by a really nice breeze that stayed for all of Saturday. I didn't bring my close lense on the hike, but I think next time I'll try to get shots of some of the birds - a sheer paradise if you're looking for things like orioles and red-winged blackbirds. The pink roses were scattered through all of the fields. Needless to say, with all of the hiking and swimming, we came home with one tired puppy.
